Deadlines for CUE and UCCC

A good rule of thumb for effective dates based on scheduling, registration, and catalog deadlines is:

The below are deadlines for specific UCCC and CUE meetings. Actions must have reached the OUCC Review step by EOB of the deadline.

Note for programs: Courses included within a program should be approved prior to/at the same meeting as the program. This ensures that UCCC is able to review the makeup of the program and enables implementation after approval is secured (programs cannot be created with courses that don’t exist yet).

If a program includes courses that have not passed UCCC as named requirements at the time the action arrives at OUCC Review (not on an elective list), the action will be held at OUCC Review until the course actions also arrive at the step.

If a program includes courses that have not passed UCCC on an elective list at the time the action arrives at OUCC Review, UCCC can still review the action and approve it pending the approval of those courses. The action will be held as a pending action between the UCCC Meeting step and the UCCC Chair step until the course actions have passed UCCC.

Why these deadlines?

• UCCC and CUE are standing committees and are subject to sunshine/open meeting laws
• Allows time for action review, agenda creation, communication with the Chair, and sendout of the agenda in a timely fashion
• Allows time for faculty who are presenting or reviewing actions to prepare their introductions/questions/comments for the meeting alongside their existing workload.
